Steve Jobs A Engineer Of The Highest Calibre - 1602 Words

â€Å"I actually think there s actually very little distinction between an artist and a scientist or engineer of the highest calibre† (Smithsonian). This was spoken by somebody who created a well-known company and invented many revolutionary products that many people use. Who was this person? That person was Steve Jobs, the famous inventor and co-founder of Apple. He was born in San Francisco, California on February 24, 1955 and died on October 5, 2011. Most people know Steve Jobs for his work at Apple and his â€Å"Stevenotes,† which were his keynote speeches where he introduced new products and technologies. Throughout his life, he accomplished many admirable things. In 1976, the Apple I personal computer began to be sold and it was a succ ess. Steve Jobs played a huge role in the development and sale of the Apple I. First, Steve Jobs designed the Apple I. Second, he was able to get it sold in a computer store. And third, he provided his house as a place so the computers the Byte Shop ordered could be built. It is impossible to say that Steve Jobs did not play a large part in the creation of the Apple I computer and Apple itself. Without the Apple I being successful, Apple would not be the company it is today. Steve Jobs should be admired for his work on the Apple I, the device that started Apple Computer. In addition, Steve Jobs is admirable because besides founding Apple, he also saved it from it having to go out of business. In the 1990s, Apple was not doing well financially. Steve Jobs said in an interview that â€Å"making great computers for people to use† is what allowed Apple to exist (Smithsonian). Steve Jobs then says: They didn t care about that anymore. They didn t have a clue about how to do it and they didn t take any time to find out because that s not what they cared about. They cared about making a lot of money so they had this wonderful thing that a lot of brilliant people made called the Macintosh and they got very greedy and
